Pre - Balvikas

With Swami’s grace, Viju Patankar has been teaching Pre Balvikas for the last 10 years.   She is a grandmother and lives in Katy, TX. She love young  kids, and especially their innocence and their pure heart. 

She believe that it is the right time to start and that at that young age they can be  molded easily with good  values through the stories, fun activities and music. Her classes are always a fun place to be in with a lot of energy and love.

Krithika Krishnan is a Sai parent. She has been an ardent devotee of Swami for over three decades. This is her first year serving as a SSSE guru for Pre Balvikas. She was actively involved in the Sai Center in India along with her mother. Singing Sai Bhajans was something the duo loved, and they made it a part of their daily routine. 

She is an engineer by profession and lives in Houston, Texas, along with her husband and her children.

Group 1 Year 1

Priya Mohan is  a Sai parent. She resides in Richmond TX and has been in the Sai fold for more than a decade and she was drawn into his fold learning about  Swami’s service to mankind. 

She is a Pharmacist by profession and has a son who is in Educare from Pre Balvikas. This is her second year of teaching in Educare kids for Group 1. She loves being around kids and teaching. She is committed to be involved in service activities.

Saikavitha is a Sai Parent with passion in teaching Swami’s values to the young kids. Being raised in Sai family, has attended SSE and participated in Sai activities while growing up. She works as an Internal Medicine Physician at the Memorial Hermann system . She enjoys spending quality time with the kids, listening to Swami’s Satsang and Bhajans.

Saikavitha lives in Sugarland,Texas with her husband and two daughters. 

Group 1 Year 2

Pappa Kumar has been in Swami’s fold for the past 20 years. He lives in Sugar Land, Texas and has been a SSE guru for Group 2.   He received his SSE training from Sis. Bernice Mead and took part in periodic SSE Teacher enrichment activities. He taught group 2 children at the Sacramento Sai Center and later continued to teach Group 2 at the S Houston Sai Center. 

He considers teaching children to be not only fun but also his spiritual sadhana.

Pavithra Krishnan is a Sai Parent and SSE teacher. Her journey with Swami started while in high school in Bangalore. Her affinity to Swami began with Seeing (S)Him in Brindavan where her mother was one of the singers. This grew into Association(A) with Swami’s activities in Bangalore and then in the US.  SSE has enriched this into Introspection(I) every day. She received her SSE training from Sis Bernice Mead in 2011 and has been an active SSE Guru for a decade. She has taught Group 1 through 4. She has  served as the SSE Coordinator (S Houston), been a part of the National SSE teacher training team, several SSE enrichment sessions, SSE Teacher mentor and National Teacher Study circle team in the past. 

She lives with her husband, children and pets in Houston, Texas. She is a Technologist by profession and works in the field of Product Management. She pursues music, painting, reading, and cartooning in her free time. Being with children and participating in their spiritual growth keeps her very close to Swami. She enjoys their company and considers it a big honor to be part of their journey.

Group 1 Year 3

Viji is blessed to be in Swamis divine fold since early 1990’s during  her high school tenure at Chennai by participating in bhajans and other local Chennai  samithi activities . Her entire family are ardent devotees. Her Father was  very engaged in samithi activities in Nanganallur , Chennai and served as samithi convener. Her brother studied in Puttaparthi.

Presently, She lives in Katy, texas.  She has been a Bal Vikas guru since 2012, and used to  teach group 3 in CA and has been teaching  Group 1 for the past 7 years . She has three boys , all balavikas and SSE students since their kindergarten period in CA and TX. She works as a substitute teacher in Katy ISD and her passions include singing bhajans , music  , gardening and participating in service activities

Meena is blessed to come into Swami’s fold through a close friend from Tampa, FL back in 2003. Presently, She lives in Fulshear , TX.  She is super excited about this gift from Baba in being a first time assistant teacher. She has two kids.  She currently is working as Product Development for an oil and gas company in Houston.

For her, being with kids makes her feel like She is with Swami.

Group 2

Having been in the Sai Fold since a young age, Nithya Sherman, remained engaged as a Sai parent.  Her children attended SSE in Singapore and later in the US. As a Sai parent she has seen the amazing transformation of her children evolving to caring and responsible YAs. This instilled in her desire to become a Sai Teacher (Student) and this was fulfilled when she got an opportunity to be an SSE co-teacher in 2018. She has been teaching SSE Group 2 for the last 5 years and completed her teacher’s training in 2020. Her passion for teaching young children has instilled in her patience and willingness to listen, to better connect and engage with them. 

Her passions include dance, music, gardening and seva. She actively participates in devotional singing and volunteering activities with her family. She currently is a Finance & HR Administrator and pursues her passion for dance as a Dance instructor at Silambam Houston.

Lakshmy is an educare mom for the past 10 years and a special education teacher by profession. She seeks this opportunity to teach and learn from students and constantly be reminded and  live by the principles of Sai and values of Educare.

 

Group 3

Sridevi Devaraj lives in Sugar Land, Texas and has been a SSE guru for both Group 2 and Group 3 children for the last 15 years. She is formally trained to teach SSSE and is very passionate about teaching Swami’s values to children. She is especially motivated to follow what she teaches and motivate the kids to use Swami’s values in real life. By profession, Sridevi is the Medical Director of the Texas Children’s Hospital laboratories and Professor of Pathology at Baylor College of Medicine. 

She is also committed to being involved in community service and loves to involve children and devotees of all ages in these efforts with the ultimate goal of enriching ourselves by sharing and caring.

Group 4

Gopi Balakrishnan is a Sai Parent and SSE teacher. He lives in Houston, Texas. He has taught group 3&4 over the past 12 years. He received his SSE training from Sis Bernice Mead in 2011 and has been an active volunteer / facilitator / participant at SSE teacher enrichment programs. He came to Swami’s fold at a very young age. He did his schooling in Trivandrum, Kerala and was an active member of the Madhuvanam Sathya Sai ashram in its formative days in the 90s.  

He did his Masters in Electric power engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York and currently works in the field of Technology management and Digital transformation.

Hari Nemmara is a Sai parent. He has been in Swami’s fold since childhood and attended Balvikas. His two children attend SSSE in groups 2 & 4. He co-taught SSE for Group 2 in 2021.

He loves to sing Bhajans and has held Bhajan satsangs in his neighborhood since 2020. He is a Chemical Engineer by profession and lives in Katy.
